Florida basketball's KenPom ratings after beating Kentucky

The Florida Gators are coming off a Saturday win over the Kentucky Wildcats, which led to a slight increase in net efficiency rating on KenPom.

While Florida remains ranked No. 5 in the latest Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings, it now has a plus-32.97 net rating, up 0.64 points from the last update. The Gators began the 2025-26 campaign ranked second in the nation, dropped as low as No. 15 and steadily climbed back into the top five with an impressive 10-2 record in SEC play. The Gators sit between the No. 4 Houston Cougars and No. 6 Illinois Illini.

The offense is scoring 124.4 points per 100 possessions (16th in the country) and the defense is allowing just 91.4 points per 100 possessions (fourth) — a 2.0 and 0.7 improvement, respectively.

Florida is playing with an adjusted tempo of 70.3 possessions per 40 minutes, a 0.6-possession increase from the last update.

Florida’s luck rating (-.068) remains among the bottom tenth in the country at No. 329, but it’s the Gators’ best figure since the end of November. Somehow, the Orange and Blue has the fifth-worst ranking in this metric among SEC teams. The Ole Miss Rebels (-.072, No. 335), South Carolina Gamecocks (-.075, No. 339), Texas Longhorns (-.082, No. 343) and Oklahoma Sooners (-.101, No. 351) have all been unluckier this season.

KenPom’s luck rating is the deviation in winning percentage between a team’s actual record and its expected record using the correlated Gaussian method.

Strength of Schedule according to KenPom

Florida’s strength of schedule remains the fourth-toughest in the country, with opponents boasting a plus-14.66 net rating. Further broken down, Florida’s opponents score 118.2 points per 100 possessions, the third-best in the country, and allow 103.5 points, which is good for 15th overall.
