With each passing season, Matthew Stafford moves himself up the all-time list of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. He added to his impressive resume this year by winning 2025 MVP, also leading the Rams all the way to the NFC Championship Game.
He’s solidifying himself as a likely Hall of Famer, but Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. sees him as more than that. In a recent video, Pittman put Stafford among the top five quarterbacks of all time.
His order was Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Joe Montana and then Stafford.
“People are going to be like, ‘Gotta question this.’ Matt Stafford, he’s a dog.”
Pittman rounded out the list with Jim Bob Cooter, the Colts’ current offensive coordinator. But he was seemingly dead serious about Stafford being fourth all-time.
That’s a stretch by most accounts, but there’s no doubt Stafford is moving up just about every historical list when it comes to the best quarterbacks ever. If he wins another Super Bowl or MVP next season, he could wind up being a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
If Pittman thinks so highly of Stafford, perhaps he’ll consider teaming up with him in Los Angeles at some point – potentially even this year if he winds up being a cap casualty for the Colts.
