Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Colbie Young showed off an impressive workout at the 2026 NFL combine in Indianapolis.
Young ran a 4.49 at the 40-yard dash on Saturday, Feb. 28. That time places third among all Georgia Bulldogs that ran the combine, behind just wide receiver Zachariah Branch (4.35) and cornerback Daylen Everette (4.38). He also earned a 1.59 10-yard split, which was fourth behind Branch (1.50), Everette (1.54) and Dillon Bell (1.58).
Young impressed with his speed at the combine. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound receiver has excellent size and certainly helped his draft stock at the combine.
Young was the main X-receiver for Gunner Stockton when healthy. He racked up 26 receptions for 358 yards and a touchdown in 2025, and his incredible ball skills and play strength led to some great catches in a Georgia uniform.
Young’s top speed during the gauntlet measured at 19.72 miles per hour, which was the fastest of any wide receiver at the combine, even above his teammate Dillon Bell (19.59 MPH), who was known as the Y-receiver and end-around threat for Georgia.
Unfortunately for Bulldogs fans, Young missed a lot of time during his tenure at Georgia. He transferred to Georgia from Miami in the 2024 offseason, but he was suspended from the program in Oct. 2024 due to a legal matter.
He earned another year of eligibility with the Bulldogs after the Diego Pavia trial and a reinstatement, but during Georgia’s regular season game against the Ole Miss Rebels, Young fractured his leg, forcing him to miss six games. He returned just in time for the Sugar Bowl against the Rebels.
Overall, Young had just 37 receptions for 507 yards and three touchdowns for Georgia in 2025. Considering how well he did at the combine, his tenure at Georgia will be looked at as a big what-if scenario. Young is a good leader and should be a mid-round round draft pick this April.
