It is officially big-time pro day season around the collegiate landscape, with multiple major football programs holding their yearly showcase, allowing their prospects to test in a home environment in front of scouts and coaches. One of the biggest on the calendar in 2026 was the one held at Texas Tech, with premier prospect David Bailey being a player many scouts want to keep their eyes on and see if he can pan out at the NFL level.
Among the teams in attendance, the New Orleans Saints had a pretty substantial staff group that showed up, including Kellen Moore, Jeff Ireland, and Bo Davis. Former New Orleans coach, now New York Jets head coach, Aaron Glenn, also made an appearance.
One of the other big names on this Red Raiders roster was also on the defensive line, that being defensive tackle Lee Hunter. Hunter, a combine attendee, tested out about as one would expect for his size, but his measurements were where he really improved. At 6-foot-3 and a half, 318 pounds, with a 33 1/4-inch wingspan, he really has great size for a defensive tackle or nose tackle, especially when factoring in that many combine arm measurements were being considered shorter than the reality.
Hunter had the opportunity to work alongside Saints defensive line coach Bo Davis at the pro day, which is a great chance for both to see how things would work out if he were selected by the team.

It is also worth noting that New Orleans met with wide receiver prospect Caleb Douglas at the pro day. Douglas tested out extremely well at the combine, with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash being the headlining metric, and also his 6-foot-3 and a half frame. He is another fun option for the Saints to look into in this class, especially when noting his 800+ yard seasons at Texas Tech in 2024 and 2025, along with a combined 13 touchdowns.
