On Wednesday, Apple will hold a press event with the tagline “Surprise and Shine.” Officially we don’t know what products will be announced, but in reality we’re 95% sure the day’s reveals will include iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max handsets. And that number might have just gone up even further with the leak of a video showing demo models of the new phones.
A very brief video clip posted this weekend to the Naver platform appears to show two devices: an iPhone 18 Pro Max, and an iPhone 18 Pro. We can tell this partly because there’s a retail-style label in front of them, but also because they’re finished in colors that aren’t available as part of the current or recent iPhone range. In the video, one iPhone is a dark red/burgundy, the other a light blue, appearing to provide the strongest visual evidence yet for the iPhone 18 Pro colors exclusively revealed by Macworld.
The only other phone we see is a dark-blue iPhone 17 Pro Max, which the poster holds against the Dark Cherry 18 Pro Max for comparison.
The poster doesn’t offer much context for the video; the headline (via Google Translate) reads simply “iPhone 18 Pro Max Dark Cherry & 18 Pro Blue demo devices exposed” and the body text adds nothing further. But from the items in the background, including the aforementioned label, clear plastic stands, and security cables, it appears that we’re looking at a retail display for the new phones. Given how soon they will need to appear in stores, it’s plausible that outlets will have already received demo units, although it’s obviously risky for one to allow footage to leak online before the announcements.
We can’t guarantee that the video is genuine, and it wouldn’t be hugely difficult to fake footage of this sort. But there isn’t a strong reason to doubt it, and the evidence for these two colors is growing stronger with each passing day.
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, unless something very unexpected happens, will be announced at the event on Wednesday, starting at 10 a.m. E.T. Our iPhone event live blog is already up and running and will report all the breaking news and rumors as we find them.
And if you’d like to read the announcements before they happen… our crack reporters managed to get their hands on the script. Just don’t tell anyone, or we’ll get in trouble.
